Chicago Avenue taken by me

Chicago is one of my all-time favourite cities to visit. As a St. Louis native, it’s become a common practice to take weekend trips to Chicago. There is so much to do, nice people, history, and great food! Here are four of my favourites you have to visit for yourself.

  1. Quartino Ristorante

Quartino Ristorante is an Italian restaurant on 626 N State Street. The restaurant offers small shareable plates and big plates. I enjoyed eating here because my dad and I who were visiting Chicago were able to have many tapas/shareable to try everything. The dessert was to die for. I left so full! I will have to go back to try what I couldn’t stomach after eating so much. Hands down one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to.

2. Atwood

Atwood is a hotel restaurant on 1 W Washington St. I love the interior of this restaurant. They also have the cutest plates. As you can see below. The rim of the plate says “I’m sorry for what I said when I was hungry” and after you clear your plate it says “WTF, Where is the Food”. I had the chocolate chip waffles and it was very satisfying. Atwood also has a great array of brunch cocktails.

3. Park Grill

Park Grill is located on 11 N Michigan Ave, quite literally under the bean. With excellent views of the ice rink in the winter. At first glance, I thought that this restaurant would be a tourist trap, but it was surprisingly good and the wait staff was excellent.

4. Sweetwater Tavern and Grille

Sweetwater Tavern and Grille is located at 225 Michigan Ave. Offering pub foods. Be sure to ask for a seat outside on the patio. There are great views of the surrounding skyscrapers. Perfect for a nice day.
